Nestled in the heart of New York State’s Capital District, just outside of Albany, in the Glenmont Hamlet of the Town of Bethlehem on the bustling Route 9W corridor, Tea & Tattered Pages is a rare gem -- a used bookstore that doesn’t overwhelm the visitor with old dusty, musty and moldy volumes but caters to the common reader instead.

At Tea & Tattered Pages you might not find the books currently on the New York Times bestsellers list but you just might find the book you didn’t know you wanted.  That’s the joy of browsing and why Tea & Tattered Pages is a reader’s bookstore where your new favorite book just might be waiting for you. (You might also discover earlier books written by your new favorite author).

Have you heard about our Story Hour for Children every Saturday morning?  Just check our calendar of events to find out what the theme is and whether you might want to bring a special item to share (like a teddy bear for our Teddy Bear Picnics) and join us for some reading, some singing, some playing, some activities and lots and lots of FUN!!!

Tea & Tattered Pages is also a charitable used bookstore.  When you come in make sure you keep your eyes open, there is usually an Animal Lovers (www.animalovers.org) cat or two running around looking for a forever family to adopt.  Is your family that forever family?  We also partner with the local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America (www.capitalregion2bsm.org) to do our small part to help make the lives of their military children a little more comfortable while they are deployed in the current hot zones of Afghanistan and Iraq by collecting items to put in Freedom Boxes.

We also serve the community as a meeting spot.  The local chapter of Sisters-in-Crime (www.sistersincrime.org), the Mavens of Mayhem, meets here five times a year to discuss their mystery writing and the business of getting their writing published.  If your organization would like to meet at Tea & Tattered Pages please contact us at books@teaandtattered.com for details on how to do that.  But if you’re here browsing you are always more than welcome to use our comfy sofas and chairs for a rest while you check out the books you’d like to buy.
